The SUDO is a special account with root privileges that allows the SUDO to do anything anytime on the system. The SUDO is an important safety aspect in the beginning of a chain’s life to help guard against mistakes and vulnerabilities. Now that the Geode Blockchain Community is stable and we have enough validator nodes for security, it is time to remove the SUDO so that no one account will have these kinds of powers. The Council will take over proposing and enacting code changes in the future, as voted on by the entire community. This is a big step in the maturity of the blockchain and its community and ensures that anything enacted on the chain is voted on by the entire community, making Geode fully decentralized and community-led.
